A Changed Purpose and Fitness

From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of belonging—and, even better, the freedom to truly be myself.

My time at New Life has been nothing short of life-changing. It has deepened my connections with others, strengthened my faith, and helped me discover more about myself. Before finding New Life, I didn’t have any real hobbies and often just went along with the crowd. Although I had some talent for athletics, I never took it seriously. That all changed when a friend introduced me to New Life. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of belonging—and, even better, the freedom to truly be myself.

Every Thursday, we’d play sports like soccer and basketball. I always enjoyed soccer and often played basketball, but what started as casual games soon became a passion. Whether it was structured practices or spontaneous matches under the open sky, these experiences inspired me to join my school’s soccer, basketball, and even football teams.

However, after the school year ended, my life took a dramatic turn. I had a near-death experience after cutting an artery in my left arm. During my recovery, I attended New Life’s summer camp, which reignited my drive to stay consistent and move forward. The staff—Matthew, Danny, Caleb, and Henry—were incredible role models. Their strength and dedication to fitness inspired me to take weightlifting seriously, something I had only dabbled in before. Since then, I’ve remained committed, and for the past year and a half, I’ve been consistently training, growing stronger physically, mentally, and spiritually.

One verse has become my mantra: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” New Life has given me a sense of purpose and the motivation to chase my goals relentlessly. Many of my achievements are thanks to their guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support. If you’re not part of New Life, you’re truly missing out on something extraordinary!
